We love to take care of our plants but it break our hearts when they wilt and die.
So what if there were some plants that could possible outlive us? Well, there are some plants that, if we care for them in the right way, can live for over 100 years!
Here are eight houseplants for their longevity:
- Snake plant: Also known as Mother-in-law’s Tongue, the snake plant is highly adaptable and can tolerate low light and neglect. It’s known to live for many years.
- Rubber plant: Rubber plants are hardy and can live for many years with proper care. They prefer bright, indirect light and well-draining soil.
- Fiddle leaf fig: With the right conditions, a fiddle leaf fig can grow into a sizable indoor tree. Adequate sunlight and proper watering are crucial for its longevity.
- Aloe Vera: Aloe vera is a succulent known for its medicinal properties. It’s a hardy plant that can thrive with minimal care. Given the right conditions, it can live for many years.
- Jade plant: Jade plants are succulents that are known for their resilience. They can live for decades and are often passed down through generations.
- Peace lily: Peace lilies are a sight to behold and their beautiful white flower are a favorites. But another great thing about them is that peace lily is that peace lily can live for decade if taken care of in the right way. Low to medium light conditions and slightly moist is the way to go.
- Parlor Palm: Although not 100years the parlor palm is capable of living for several decades. This small plant is adaptable to low-light conditions and prefers consistently moist soil.
- Yucca: With it sword-like leaves, the Yucca is a hardly plant that can survive for many years, It can thrive in low light conditions, but grow best in bright, indirect sunlight. Make sure you allow the soil to dry out between watering or it can die.
