Tony Forbes arrived at the court as the five suspects linked to his son, Kiernan AKA Forbes’ murder made their first court appearance.
The South African rapper was gunned down in Durban on Florida Road on the evening of 10 February 2023.
Celebrity chef Tebello ‘Tibz’ Motsoane who was a friend to the late rapper was also shot and killed.
Speaking to eNCA, Tony applauds the investigation team and explains why he made it to court today.
“As a father, I have to give credit to the team, they have worked extremely hard,” Tony said during an interview with eNCA.
“It’s important for me to be here to support the process and hear the facts. It is also a part of my closure as opposed to not being involved. I also want to see who did this,” he added.
“It’s been a steady process, it’s been a long build-up. I think the fact that there are now seven people in custody is a very important milestone that’s been reached.”
“The journey started the night that Kiernan passed. I was in Durban the next morning… I am very grateful for where we are and we can get closer to the truth,” he added.
