Candice Modiselle speaks about the life of the late Mpho Sebeng who died on Sunday, 5 May 2024.

Taking to social media, the TV personality did a picture wrap of the deceased and captioned with a lengthy note.

Modiselle recalled meeting Mpho on her first audition as a presenter and how they’ve grown close over the years.

“I love you mfanaka” will forever be tucked away in every sunset, a gentle reminder to marvel at God’s majesty. That’s the thing about Luse… People like him can only be experienced as a radiant embodiment of love. For someone who was (even referring to you in the past tense is jarring) and will forever be one of the greatest storytellers for generations to come, he loved harder than he worked. You WORKED and what a wonder you were to behold.”

“(Funny story: My first audition as a presenter, almost 10 years ago, was beside Mpho for ShizNiz. I’d only ever seen him at Wits but I was not-so-secretly a fan. Mulo was also in the room. What started off as industry colleagues in one space, soon became family).”

“Oh Mpho motsoalle oa ka. 💔 Ke utlwile bohloko ntwanas. Your smile is engraved in the parts of our heart you will eternally occupy. Sealed with the final “You look happy my friend” (I forgive you for the weight gain and old age banter 😂). Stamped with all our conversations reflecting on God’s love for us. He loved us dearly to have blessed us with you. Lelapa la Sebeng, re rapela hore Modimo a le tshedise. Ho bohloko empa ho lokile. Friends, the CraZe family, colleagues, peers, industry at large and beloved supporters of His craft, I’m so sorry. We all share in the grief of such a massive loss.”

“If you ever want to know the evidence of a life well lived? It’s one marked by God’s fingerprints, a trace of His love and grace. All glory to Him, always and in all ways. The credits have rolled, the curtains are closed, but you my friend, live on in us. In the sunsets, in our hearts.”
