Husband of daycare owner raped a 12-month-old baby girl
1-year-old baby girl was reportedly raped at a creche in Newlands East in Durban.
According to Women For Change SA, the hideous incident took place on 6 May 2024 while other children at the facility were taken for swimming lessons.
The baby was said to be crying a lot after the incident; hence the mother was curious upon arriving home.
“Once the mother inspected her daughter at home, she saw that her baby’s private part was swollen and red. The mother took the baby to the hospital but was sent away. When she went to another doctor the following day, he identified clear signs of abuse but did not have a rape kit,” reads the report.
It was further revealed that the baby was raped by the husband of the daycare.
“Two days later, a surgeon finally confirmed that there was indeed penis penetration, and a case was opened against the suspect, who is the owner’s husband.”
“Following the mother’s post on social media about the horrific incident, there were further allegations that the suspect had raped another girl at the facility. Newlands East police are investigating an alleged rape case.”
