South African men 400m Relay team won appeal after being disqualified
The battle between South Africa and Nigeria keeps getting stronger following a recent saga at the Olympics 2024.
The Nigerian male team for 4x400m has been disqualified while the South African men won their appeal.
Four Nigerian athletes, Emmanuel Ojeli, Ezekiel Nathanial, Dubem Amene, and Chidi Okezie have been disqualified from participating in the final of men’s 4x400m for alleged violation of a rule of the competition.
The athletes were disqualified for stepping on the line in their heat at the semi-final stage and therefore will no longer compete in the final of men’s 4x400m.
South Africa filed an appeal stating that they were impeded and won. Botswana and Zambia also qualified for the final.
