Miss Universe Nigeria and She’s South African trends on Twitter after the 23-year-old announced her acceptance of Miss Universe Nigeria’s offer to participate in this year’s competition.
Mzansi expressed excitement over a week ago after Chidinma voluntarily withdrew from Miss SA; now that she’s joined Miss Universe Nigeria, South Africans have once again reacted to her decision.
Vanessa was born in South Africa but due to her Nigerian name and root, a majority of South Africans demanded that she leaves the Miss SA competition.
