Samthing Soweto finally credited on ‘Amalanga Awafani’ song
Samthing Soweto has finally been credited for his vocals on the song “Amalanga Awafani” following a social media outcry.
The track, which dropped earlier this week, quickly became a hot topic after fans noticed Samthing’s vocals featured but his name was missing from the credits. Outraged, social media users rallied behind the singer, calling out Mas MusiQ and DJ Maphorisa, who collaborated with TO Starquality on the song.
In response, Maphorisa took to Instagram Live, explaining that Samthing may not have fully understood the business side of the music industry. However, fans remained unconvinced, with many threatening to boycott Maphorisa’s music if Samthing wasn’t properly acknowledged.
Thanks to the public’s pressure, Samthing Soweto has now officially been credited for his contribution to the song.
