This company encourages employees to go on dates during office hours, here’s why

It’s often said that love makes your world go round. And it seems that recently a company has taken this idiom a bit too seriously. So much so that they want their employees to go out on dates during their working hours. And that’s not all, as it is also said to be all paid. Yes, you read that right!

As per reports, a Thai marketing agency named Whiteline Group is encouraging its employees to go out, date people, and have happy relationships during their office hours.

The reason: many researchers say that people who are in love or a relationship are often happier than those who aren’t. So much so that they also enjoy their work. And so, in order to boost their employees’ productivity, the Thai company has come up with this strange policy.

The company is offering paid ‘Tinder leaves’ to their employees to improve their productivity at work and their overall well-being. They have roughly 200 employees, and they can enjoy taking ‘Tinder leaves’ from July till the end of December 2024 (for six months), as per several reports. Not just this, the company would also pay for their employees’ subscriptions to Tinder Gold and Tinder Platinum to help them find a suitable companion.

While they haven’t cited how many ‘Tinder leaves’ their employees can take, the staff can take a few days and nights off to go out on dates. The employees only have to inform a week in advance for it.

It was after one of their female staff complained of being too busy to go out on romantic dates that the company came up with this revolutionary idea.

The company also shared this on their official LinkedIn profile. Their post read, “We give 6 months of free Tinder platinum & Tinder gold to our employees. Our employees can use Tinder leave !!!! for dating with someone”.
On the other hand, we also have companies and employers who are adamant on calling their staff to office fulltime post the COVID-19 pandemic as some employers think it would boost the company’s productivity.

What are your views on this new idea by the Thai company? Do you think happy employees contribute to more productivity? Tell us in the comments below.
