A Brazilian woman has been arrested at OR Tambo with cocaine worth R1.9 million.
The woman who is reportedly a 44-year-old was arrested by SAPS intelligence at OR Tambo International Airport on Thursday afternoon for drug trafficking.
She had arrived from Sao Paulo and was found with cocaine valued at R1.9 million wrapped around her upper body.
The report has made it to social media and garnered mixed reactions from South Africans.
“South Africa seems to be the centre of all dirty business……Weak law enforcement is the reason behind all this,” an X user wrote.
“A product worth R1,9 million wrapped around a human being, nah that’s hectic,” another wrote.
A tweep wrote, “So they allowed her to board on a plane with the cocaine from Brazil just to be arrested in SA, something is fishy here and someone is not telling us the whole truth.”
