South African woman named Primrose Vale dies in Nigeria after a brief illness.
Reports reveals that the young woman who went to Nigeria to celebrate her birthday passed away after suffering from malaria.
According to the family, the 29-year-old is a mother to a 10-year-old boy; she was living in Cape Town due to work.
The deceased’s father, Orlando Vale, said: “She had planned to celebrate her birthday with friends.”
He said Rose informed them that she had landed safely. However, on the 28 of December, her friend in Cape Town reached out to inform the family about her passing.
The family is seeking financial assistance to return their daughter’s body to South Africa.
The estimated costs from a funeral parlor in Nigeria stand at R90 000.
Rose’s father emphasized that himself and Rose’s mother are pensioners and can’t afford to pay the amount; he is pleading for help to bring the body home for burial.
Rose’s brother Valito Vale said they have contacted the embassy and are still waiting for a response.
He said he has to fly to Nigeria for logistics.
