Asavela Mngqithi confirmed she’s divorced
Actress Asavela Mngqithi is making headlines after opening up about her personal life, including her divorce from businessman Vuyisa Mqokiyana.
The former Isibaya star, known for keeping her private life under wraps, revealed in an interview with ZiMoja that she and Mqokiyana have officially gone their separate ways.
“I can’t paint all the guys with the same brush. I would definitely get married again,” she said.
Despite the split, she insists there is no bad blood between them. “We have a beautiful relationship. He is a good father to his children, and nothing has changed besides that we are no longer together. We are both there for our kid,” she added.
Speculation about their breakup began last September when Mngqithi posted cryptic messages online.
Dressed in black in front of the KwaZulu-Natal High Court, she captioned her post, “Woof, woof. It has been lovely enkosi (thank you),” fueling divorce rumors. Reports from 2023 suggested Mqokiyana had allegedly cheated, but Mngqithi remained silent at the time.
Now ready to return to acting after a two-year break to raise her daughter, she told IOL, “I want to be discerning in what I take on… I won’t take on aggressive roles unless they serve a purpose.”
