A 25-year-old man is set to tie the knot with his 85-year-old lover.
In an interview with Afrimax, the man named Muyiwa revealed how he met her and why he chose her over other women.
He fell in love with the woman while trying to further his education, as he left his country Congo for another undisclosed African country.
Thereza (85) happens to be the landlady of the house Muyiwa and his friends rented, and that’s how their love journey began.
Speaking of how he fell in love with her, Muyiwa said, “I remember one Friday when my colleague wasn’t around, I was hungry and we had no food. I was very weak. And out of nowhere, the old woman brought me some food. She came and served me with too much care.”
“The way she behaved and treated me pushed me to love her. Though she is an old woman and in reality could be my grandmother, but so what! I love her.”
“This is my choice, This is my happiness. As everyone has theirs,” he added.
Thereza is a mother to 8 kids and 20 grandchildren; speaking about her newfound love, she is willing to risk it all, despite the no show of support from her children.
“I am 85 years of age. I have 8 children and 20 grandchildren. According to my boyfriend’s age, he could be my 5th grandchild. He loves me and I also love him. I am now ready to put on the wedding dress and ring,” she said.
