Veteran South African actor Paul Eilers, 74, died of a heart attack on Friday afternoon in Oudsthoorn.
He is best known for his roles in Afrikaans movies Sonkring, Vyfster, Paljas, Roepman, Stuur Groete Aan Mannetjies Roux, and Dominee Tienie, as well as the television series Koöperasiestories.
Film producer Piet de Jager confirmed the news and actress Charlenè Brouwer paid tribute in a post while the local publication Oudtshoorn Courant shared the news in a post.
Speaking to Rapport, Paul’s wife, Marina said that the Sonkring actor had reportedly died from a pulmonary embolism.
