Taking to social media, she responded with disbelief to the latest report revealing that nearly R11 billion in looted public funds had been retrieved.
Reacting to an SABC News broadcast shared on 28 July 2025, the outspoken entertainer summed up the nation’s collective shock with a dramatic post.

While many online shared her disbelief at the massive figure, most South Africans admitted they weren’t exactly surprised, as corruption at this scale has sadly become all too familiar.
The recovered billions, however, weren’t secured overnight.
According to NovaNEWS, the fight to reclaim the funds began in October 2022.
The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) recovered R2.9 million initially, while the Asset Forfeiture Unit later brought in a staggering R8 billion.
President Cyril Ramaphosa’s recent progress report showed that the recommendations from the Zondo Commission are starting to yield visible results.
Yet, for many, the news is bittersweet.
As one social media user commented, “We’re recovering billions while millions of citizens remain in poverty. Make it make sense.”
