Rami Chuene shares victory after SABC agrees to pay repeat fees
Rami Chuene has shared an important update for fellow actors after revealing that the SABC has agreed to pay her repeat fees for her work on the drama series Giyani: Land of Blood.
Taking to social media on Monday, 19 May 2026, the veteran actress announced that she had received official communication from the public broadcaster regarding payment for reruns of the show.
In her statement, Rami said all the necessary paperwork had already been completed and submitted, and she is now waiting for payment to be processed.
She wrote: “On this day, 19 May 2026 at 4pm, I, Rami Chuene, would like to state on record that I have received communication from the SABC telling me they will be paying me repeat fees for my work on Giyani: Land Of Blood.”
The actress explained that she decided to publicly share the update so other performers would know that repeat fees are something actors should rightfully receive when shows are rebroadcast.
“Why am I telling you? So you know, my dear thespians, that this is what is truly due to us.”
Rami also thanked the SABC for the move and expressed hope that other actors whose productions are repeated on television are receiving the same treatment.
“I appreciate this from the SABC and hope that all actors that have their shows repeated on TV are also getting their repeat fees. Thank you SABC.”
