Mpho Sebeng remembered on what would have been his 32nd birthday
Fans and friends paused to remember late actor Mpho Sebeng on Monday, marking what would have been his 32nd birthday.
Fellow entertainer Robot-Boii shared a heartfelt tribute on social media, writing, “Happy Heavenly Birthday Family.”
Sebeng tragically passed away in a car accident in Potchefstroom, North West, in 2024, but his impact on the South African entertainment industry remains.
Fans took to X to express their disbelief and grief. One user wrote, “I can’t believe Mpho Sebeng is no longer here.”
The Ring of Lies star was widely loved across the industry, admired by both his peers and more senior artists for his professionalism and warmth.
His memorial service at the Joburg Theatre drew massive crowds, with overflow attendees watching on screens outside due to limited seating.
Actor and director Meshack Mavuso reflected on the turnout at the time, saying, “This number [of people] proves that he was a respectful young man; he respected everyone he worked with. That’s why you see so many people…this is nothing. I think the funeral will be worse because people loved him because he loved them.”
