DJ Euphonik’s old tweets about Bonang Matheba resurface

Online users react to Euphonik’s old tweets about Bonang
DJ Euphonik found himself trending again after old tweets in which he publicly attacked Bonang Matheba resurfaced online.
An online user shared screenshots of several tweets the DJ posted in 2016 following the end of his relationship with the media personality.
The posts quickly went viral, sparking renewed debate about his behaviour at the time and drawing strong reactions from netizens.
Bonang and Euphonik were once considered one of Mzansi’s most high-profile celebrity couples before their relationship ended on a sour note.
Their breakup became even more controversial after Bonang accused the DJ of gender-based violence, after which Euphonik took to social media to air his grievances publicly as she moved on with her life.
In the resurfaced tweets, Euphonik appeared to take aim at Bonang after she began dating the late rapper AKA.
In one post, he wrote: “Silkours ex to media queen to now the girl that’s smashing AKA. So as much as she can try forget umThizozo, I played a BIG role in her life.”
In another tweet, he added: “You can ALL carry on believing that she broke up with me. Reality is if I wanted Hlanyo back. The week wouldn’t end.”
The tone of the tweets has led many social media users to conclude that the DJ was struggling to accept the breakup and Bonang’s decision to move on, with several describing his posts as an emotional meltdown.
As the screenshots circulated, the comment section quickly filled with reactions.
Some users mocked Euphonik, while others reflected on how chaotic that era of Twitter was.
One user asked, “Did he ever become a property billionaire?” while another commented, “Yoh, he was crashing out for Queen B.”
Others were more critical, with one saying, “You know what’s crazy: he’s still the narcissist,” while another added, “Shame, this is the kind of breakdown you get when you see your ex being happy and moving on with his or her life.”
Several users also reminisced about the moment, noting how intense the online drama was at the time, with one recalling, “Twitter was wilding heavily during this period. Rants after rants, lawyers, apologies before 6 pm.”
