AKA’s lookalike performs late rapper’s songs at club (Video)

AKA’s doppelganger spotted at a club

Kiernan “AKA” Forbes has once again found himself trending on social media, even in death, after a lookalike of the late rapper was spotted performing his songs at a nightclub.

A video of the doppelganger singing AKA’s music on stage has gone viral, drawing widespread attention and sparking debate online.

This is not the first time celebrity lookalikes have made headlines for recreating or paying tribute to well-known stars.

The clip prompted mixed reactions from public figures and fans alike.

DJ Speedsta criticised the performance, commenting: “When you don’t get attention in high school you start to do weird things in your old age!”

Business executive Nota Baloyi, however, came to the man’s defence, insisting the moment was being misunderstood.

“He went to high school with my little brother & got lots of attention, he’s a big fan doing karaoke. Nothing weird!” he wrote.

Social media users were equally divided, with some questioning the intent behind the performance and others brushing it off as harmless fan behaviour.

One user said, “Is he aware that he’ll never be him no matter how look alike he can be,” while another added, “Not that deep man. Just a fan doing karaoke.”

AKA was fatally shot on 10 February 2023 outside a restaurant in Durban, a tragic loss that continues to resonate deeply within the South African music industry and among his fans.
