Nehawu confessed that the protection of its members have been forfeited since COVID-19 outbreak and if not addressed or attended to by the government, then it would go on a definite full strike by next month
On Thursday afternoon, Nehawu held a briefing in Braamfontein. It was after the briefing that it announced it would hold a picket by next week.
This will decision will be among its national programme of action to raise awareness around the plight of healthcare workers.
Moreover the decision was influenced by an inspection of the working conditions of healthcare employees across the country during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nehawu lamented that the protection of its members have been forfeited since COVID-19 outbreak and if not addressed or attended to by the government, then it would go on a definite full strike by next month.
Meanwhile, the union said they already met with Zweli Mkhize, Health Minister as regards their issues, but nothing positive has yielded yet.
