The SGB believes former pupils were aiming at the school

The Mzwamandla Khanyile Primary School’s governing body (SGB) is beckoning on the KwaDabeka community to help detect criminals who have broken into the institution for the 16th time since 2018.

On Tuesday, the principal mentioned that criminals had been robbing the newly built schools of desks, chair, electrical appliances, and tools, also the fence which was built to keep them out. This has been happening for over two years now.

The SGB believes former pupils were aiming at the school.

School principal Roy Ntanzi mentioned that he was not happy with the response of the community towards the attacks at the school.

My problem is about this community. They’re not involved at this juncture at all because they’re not helping us,” Ntanzi said.

SGB chairperson Silindile Matubatuba said they had plans of getting the community more engaged in the matter.

We plan on talking to the community to ask for assistance from them because when you go to the department, they tell us we must speak to the structures of the community. That’s why we decided to call the community to help us,” Matubatuba said.

Matubatuba also beckoned on the provincial education and community safety departments to relate and get involved in security issues at the school.
