Sports, Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa is holding a media briefing to update on the resumption of sport and on COVID-19 relief allocation.
There have been issues of governance in South African sports federations including Cricket South Africa, Sascoc and the South African Football Association.
Last month, Mthethwa gazetted new rules for sporting codes under lockdown level 3.
Contact and non-contact sport may also resume without any spectators.
All athletes and support staff will have to be tested for COVID-19 before the resumption of any sporting code.
