The National State of Disaster will come to an end on Saturday and government is yet to confirm if an extension will occur.

Five months back, the coronavirus pandemic was declared a national disaster.

The first expiry date happened on 15 June and subsequent to that, it has been extended monthly as required by law.

Meanwhile, a nationwide campaign has been started by several business organisations, calling for an end to the COVID-19 lovkdown.

They said it has served its purpose and considering a further continuation of the lockdown will result to humanitarian disaster.

The steering committee of this campaign are these popular economists: Dawie Roodt and Mike Schussler.
