Eskom said it there won’t be an implementation of load-shedding this weekend after unprecedented power cuts in the past two days.
The utility has implemented stage two scheduled interruption on Thursday and Friday after the failure of several units.
They said the pressure mounted on the generation had eased, so it does not anticipate load-shedding this weekend.
Sikonathi Mantshantsha, Eskom’s spokesperson has urged South Africans to make use of electricity sparingly.
“Teams have successfully returned units to service. This has helped ease generation supply constraints and we’ve asked to suspend load shedding for the weekend.”
