Joy for motorists as petrol price set to decrease

South Africa could likely see a decrease in the cost of fuel in the month of September.

This is after a drastic increase in the price of petrol during winter.

Although the forecast changes aren’t exactly groundbreaking but, it is comforting.

In a data published by the Central Energy Fund (CEF), about nine-cents-per-litre is expected to be shaved off of the official petrol price.

The decrease will also affect the price of diesel as well.

Diesel could go down by seven-cents-per-litre.

At the current rate, illuminating paraffin would also be 12 cents cheaper.

By the forecasts and first estimates into account, here is what Mzansi should expect to pay for a litre of fuel from the first week of September till a review is carried out. However, all should be aware that these mid-month estimates could be changed by the time the Department of Energy set next month’s costs in stone.
