Lesiba Malotana, Gauteng health chief operating officer mentioned that hopes are still alive as the recovery rate remains positive
With more than 30,000 active cases, Gauteng still stands as the epicentre of South Africa’s COVID-19 pandemic.
Gauteng’s Coronavirus Command Council said on Friday that despite the province having the most number of cases, it still accounted for the greatest number of COVID-19 recoveries in the countery.
As a routine, a weekly update is always dropped by Faith Mazibuko from Community Safety MEC.
The province (Gauteng) has a record of 169,000 people that have recovered from the virus.

Lesiba Malotana, Gauteng health chief operating officer mentioned that hopes are still alive as the recovery rate remains positive.
“Although we might be having the highest number of positive cases, we are also carrying the highest number of recoveries which is something that is quite commendable. It is also a sign that COVID-19 is not a death sentence as people do recover from the disease,” he said.
