On Wednesday, Itumeleng Khune could return to the Kaizer Chiefs starting line-up after Nigerian international – Daniel Akpeyi was left out for the two last games of the season

Last Sunday, during Chiefs 1-0 loss to Bidvest Wits, Akpeyi suffered a concussion and won’t be among the team that would play against Chippa United on Wednesday.

He will also miss the last game of the season against Baroka FC on Saturday.

Daniel Akpeyi suffered a concussion on Sunday against Wits. He is ruled out for the next two matches. The medical team will continue monitoring his recovery process. We wish him a speedy recovery,” read a statement from Chiefs.

Ernst Middendorp, Chiefs coach have preferred to put Akpeyi in front of the goal post rather than Khune in league games this season. He said Khune will rather be used in front of the goal post during cup games.

However, it is not sure yet if Khune will start in front of the goal post for Chiefs on Wednesday or rather Bruce Bvuma who was substituted for Akpeyi during the Wits game.
