Steenhuisen considers Moodey resignation as a method to shy away from serious charges

On Wednesday, John Moodey made an announcement about his resignation from DA after spending 22 years, claiming that the DA doesn’t share the same values as it used to when he joined in 1998

 


Democratic Alliance (DA) interim leader – John Steenhuisen has thrown shades back at John Moodey saying that his sudden resignation from the DA was due to the serious charges he has within the party and he’s trying to run away from the charges.

During Steenhuisen speech at a virtual media briefing on Thursday afternoon, he said:

The former Gauteng leader was facing the most serious case of misconduct relating to the framing of a political opponent in a sex for jobs scandal and attempting to bribe councillors into giving false evidence.”

Steenhuisen said the party actually planned not to disclose or discuss the matters publicly.

However, we cannot allow a false set of circumstances to prevail and for lies to now be allowed to settle and eventually become the facts.”
