COVID-19 in SA: Over 20 deaths reported as recovery rate hits 88.9%

The Health Department has recorded the death of 20 patients who succumbed to coronavirus and this takes the death toll to 15,447

In the past 24 hours, the health department recorded 1,579 new coronavirus cases in South Africa. This new record brings the total number of infections to 649,793 in the country.

Gauteng and Western Cape have taken the larger percentage of fatalities with a record of six deaths each. KwaZulu-Natal and the Eastern Cape reported four deaths each.
