The Department of Health said in the past 24 hours, it has recorded 1,555 new infections which pushes the total number of known cases to 661,000 in the country.
In the past 24 hours, thirteen more patients have succumbed to coronavirus, which takes the death toll to 15,953 in South Africa.
However, the recovery rate is currently at 89.2%, which means about 590,000 people have recovered so far.
As of today, the cumulative number of #COVID19 cases is 661 211 with 1 555 new cases identified. Number of tests done is 4 041 543 with 16 884 new tests done. Our recoveries now stand at 590 071 which translates to a recovery rate of 89,2% pic.twitter.com/jHs71oWT51
