The Western Cape Education Department saddened by the brutal murder if a school principal has called on the police force to prioritise the investigation into her murder.
Grabouw school principal, Zameka Mfubesi (46) was shot and killed in the Overberg town close to the N2 highway on Friday afternoon.
She headed Umyezo Wama Apile High School before her death.
The reason for the principal’s murder remains unknown at this stage.
Western Cape Education MEC Debbie Schafer expressed her sadness over the senseless act of violence.
“Our district officials have been at the school, along with councillors, to see how we can support them.”
“Ms Mfubesi has been described by her colleagues as having been a dynamic and beautiful person. This is a tremendous loss for the school as well as the WCED.”
Police disclosed that no suspect has been arrested so far in connection with Mfubesi’s murder.
They however made it known that investigation was ongoing.
