Eighty-eight more patients have succumbed to the coronavirus in South Africa, which brings the death toll to 16,206.
Limpopo recorded the highest percentage of deaths, with a record of 22 deaths, KwaZulu-Natal followed suit with a record of 18 deaths, Mpumalanga and the Western Cape had a record of 13 deaths, Gauteng recorded 11 deaths, North West recorded 9 deaths, and Eastern Cape recorded 2 deaths.

However, the recovery rate is now at 89.3%, which means that 594,000 people have recovered so far.
