COVID-19 in SA: 88 more deaths recorded as death toll advance to 16,206

In the past 24 hours, the Department of Health have recorded 1,906 new infections, this takes the total number of known cases in this country to 665,000

Eighty-eight more patients have succumbed to the coronavirus in South Africa, which brings the death toll to 16,206.


Limpopo recorded the highest percentage of deaths, with a record of 22 deaths, KwaZulu-Natal followed suit with a record of 18 deaths, Mpumalanga and the Western Cape had a record of 13 deaths, Gauteng recorded 11 deaths, North West recorded 9 deaths, and Eastern Cape recorded 2 deaths.

In the past 24 hours, the Department of Health have recorded 1,906 new infections, this takes the total number of known cases in this country to 665,000.

However, the recovery rate is now at 89.3%, which means that 594,000 people have recovered so far.
