A 37 -year- old woman have been left with serious injuries after she was involved in a crash.
The woman was impaled on a piece of metal when the go-kart she was driving in smashed into a barrier at a race track in Centurion.
The accident happened at a race track in Lekkerhoekie on Sunday.
ER24 paramedics were alerted to the scene of the incident.
“When our paramedics arrived on the scene along with another private service at 15:20 they found that bystanders had already removed the piece of steel, leaving a 15cm laceration,” said ER24 spokesperson Ross Campbell.
The woman reportedly lost control of the go-kart she was driving in.
However, she was treated and stabilised at the scene before she was transported to Midstream Mediclinic.
In another news, two people were injured in a collision in Centurion
Emer-G-Med were alerted to the scene of the collision on the corners of Station and Monument Road in Centurion.
The patients suffered minor injuries and were transported to the hospital for further care.
Local authorities are currently on the scene.
