A George community is making preparations to lay a pregnant woman to rest after her boyfriend allegedly stabbed her to death.
On Monday, Elton Veldman came before the court. He has received accusations of being involved in the murder of Leonie Williams in the presence of their six-year-old son last Friday.
In the early hours of Friday morning, Veldman and Williams were having a rift when it was reported that she attempted to stab her boyfriend. But it was established that he grabbed the knife from her and then allegedly stabbed her severally.
The pregnant woman succumbed to death at the scene. The man was apprehended shortly after the incidents happened.
Apparently, their son witnessed the incident happen. He was later handed to his grandmother.
The accused is expected to come before the court next week, in a bid to apply for bail.
