SA Minister of Health, Dr Zweli Mkhize dished out the first 2021 report of COVID-19 on Twitter and it’s garnered South Africans attention.
Just few weeks ago in December 2020, the nation officially announced reaching over a million cases of the virus.
Towards the end of the year, it had over 50k new cases.
On the 1st of January, 2021, South Africa recorded over 16 000 new cases. Meanwhile, people were at alert when a total of 18 000 new cases were reported on the last day of 2020, 31st of December.
Lots of people didn’t find the numbers funny as President Cyril Ramaphosa announced the return of the nation to Level 3 on Monday. So, the people expected a decrease in new cases.
