Noxolo Grootboom is expected to honoured beyond just trending on social media, and there’s been a call for SABC to rename one of their studios after the veteran broadcaster.
The icon retired on Tuesday after 37 years of service in SABC; her departure left many emotional and it’s been a huge talk among South Africans.
Media personality Chriselda Lewis calls out the broadcast station on Twitter, urging them to rename SABC studio after her.
“Dear SABC, my employer. Name one of the studios after Noxolo Grootboom so that generations of young people who walk through that door may never forget her. Mr Cyril Ramaphosa there is nobody in journalism today who deserves a national order more than mama,” Chriselda tweeted.
People who saw the tweet agreed to the suggestion.
