The Whole30 diet involves eliminating added sugar, alcohol, grains, legumes, dairy, sulfites and baked goods for 30 days. After this period people are allowed to reintroduce certain food groups slowly. This diet is not unsafe, but it is restrictive and can make you feel tired and disrupt your sleeping routine. Furthermore, when you start eating normal foods, you may consume more calories, which will again lead to weight gain.

3. GM diet

GM diet or General Motors diet is a 7 days diet plan in which intake of whole grains, dairy, refined sugar, processed foods and seafood are strictly restricted. This diet can help you lose weight and detox your body. Most people find the GM diet quite appealing as it promises substantial weight loss in as little as 1 week, but it can cause nutritional deficiencies and the weight loss may not be sustainable in the long term.

4. Keto diet

Keto or Ketogenic diet might be the latest buzz word among weight watchers and fitness enthusiasts but it may have a severe impact on your kidney when followed for a long term. This low-carb and high-fat diet, helps your body burn fat as fuel in the scarcity of carbohydrates, which is the main source of energy. However, when you get off this diet and start taking a regular amount of carb you may regain the lost weight.

5. Paleo diet

This diet may help you lose weight and also cut down the risk of diseases like high cholesterol, blood sugar, blood triglycerides, and blood pressure. The problem with Paleo diet is that it can soon become pricey. Besides, cutting down grain, legumes, dairy from the diet is not easy and you may deprive yourself of essential nutrients.
