Gemini Major has revealed he will be taking legal action against Cape Town City FC over ‘Mayo’ Song Usage.
This is coming after the football club used the song to announce their new player signing, Khanyisa Mayo
The star made this known through his Twitter saying he will be taking necessary step after they use the beat to Mayo in the background.
This sparked outrage amongst the artists who worked on the hit song
Gemini Major who produced the 2016 track has also voiced his dissatisfaction with the football club.
The football club in a now-deleted video clip used the beat to Mayo in the background.
The clip shows Khanyisa on his phone with a jar of mayonnaise next to him, whilst a track that sounds like Mayo plays in the background.
DJ Speedsta first pointed out that the video was using his song without permission and asked the club to take down the video but Gemini made it known that he will be taking legal actions.
Update:
A different version that was replayed was used for their announcement.
