8 effective home remedies for unclogging pores

on

Pores on the surface of the skin are an outlet for the skin to breathe and get rid of toxins.
Daily accumulation of sweat and dead cells, along with external factors like pollution and makeup etc., can lead to clogging of the pores if you don’t clean them properly.
That, in turn, can lead to blackheads, whiteheads and breakouts. Here are some simple remedies that will help unblock the pores and keep your skin healthy.

1. Dry brushing

Indulging in dry brushing for five to 10 minutes each day will loosen up the dirt from the skin’s surface and unclog the pores.

2. Steaming

Exposing your face to steam opens up the pores, making the skin sweat. This results in release of toxins and dirt that are settled in the pores of the skin.

3. Egg mask

Egg masks are great for tightening the pores and shielding the skin from impurities. Applying egg mask will clear the pores and then close them, giving the skin a more supple appearance.

4. Lemon juice

The citric acid in lemon works effectively in clearing the skin of sweat and grime. Fresh lemon juice diluted in warm water, when applied to the skin, will cleanse the skin thoroughly, making it look fresh.
5. Baking soda
Baking soda is an inexpensive way to rid the skin of dead skin and the accumulated grime. Use it as a scrub to exfoliate your skin or add it to your face wash for clean skin.

6. Oatmeal

Oatmeal is another easy and effective way to exfoliate the skin gently and free the pores of excess sebum. It removes the extra oil, cleares the pores, and makes the skin clean.

7. Fresh fruit scrub

Enzymes found in fruits have skin-cleansing properties. Use a fruit mash (papaya, banana, orange) to deep clean the pores. The enzymes and nutrients in the fruit pulp will add a glow to the skin while keeping it hydrated naturally.

8. Cinnamon and honey

The potent combo of honey and cinnamon will not only clear the pores, but will also add a glow to the skin. It is best for soothing inflamed skin. The anti-bacterial properties of both honey and cinnamon can help reduce breakouts.
