Dining out in a restaurant is an experience in itself and when you do it in a place that’s renowned for its weird theme, it becomes a fun loaded memorable experience.

These restaurant owners have taken the ‘fun’ quotient too far and have designed restaurants based on weird themes.

Some of these restaurants are so popular for their quirkiness that people are curious to go to these places.

Take a look at some of the most unique yet weird-themed restaurants.

1. The Condom cafe

It is by far one of the most unusual restaurants in the world and is situated in Bangkok. Cabbages and Condoms are based on the condom theme, where one can find huge condom characters like Santa Claus, and David Beckham. There is even a character named The Condom Captain and people love it. This restaurant used to be a small vegetable stand, which sold veggies along with key chains, condoms and oral contraceptives. It is one of the finest restaurants in Thailand and is very popular for Massaman Curry and promotes education about sex health.

2. The Medical cafe

Can you imagine a restaurant based on a hospital theme? Well, the restaurant named ‘The Clinic Cafe’ has gone a little far with its theme and has given the whole restaurant an appeal of a hospital. This cafe is based in Singapore and serves food with a fork and scalpel. Here, you can drink your beer out of an IV drip and eat the food on an operating table.

3. The Lock-Up cafe

This is an old concept now as many places have adopted this theme. This restaurant in Tokyo, Japan named‘ The Lock-Up’ is based on a prison theme, where the diners are escorted to their table by being handcuffed by the waiter and later one of the hands is tied to the table with a handcuff. The restaurant serves all their drinks in a beaker while serving food just like they do in a prison and you have to eat with just one hand.

4. The ‘poop’ cafe

Literally titled ‘Poop Cafe’, it is a dessert restaurant based in Toronto, Canada and serves the dishes in a pot with a topping shaped like poop. It even serves water in a dark-coloured urinal. Talking about its decor, one can quickly spot chairs shaped like a toilet seat and wall art where one can literally see the bums on top wide open and the dropping at some distance. Contrary to what one might imagine, people in Toronto are actually loving this cafe.

5. The Earthquake cafe

Well, after all the restaurants, this one should not come as a shocker. Apparently named Disaster Cafe, this restaurant is based out of Spain, where the whole ambience and sitting arrangement might look normal to anyone. But, once the food is served and you are thinking of eating, the lights go off and there comes an earthquake of a magnitude of 7.8 Richter scale. The earthquakes are very frequent and you will have to prevent your food from spilling.
