Lynn and Tony Forbes react as Ndimande brothers finally return to South Africa for AKA murder trial

Tony and Lynn Forbes react to the arrival of the alleged killers of their son AKA, to SA

The parents of late rapper Kiernan “AKA” Forbes have spoken out following the return of Siyabonga and Malusi Ndimande, the two brothers accused of killing AKA and his close friend, Tebello “Tibz” Motsoane.

The pair were extradited from Eswatini to South Africa on Tuesday, 11 November 2025, after months of legal delays.

Their arrival marks a major step forward in the high-profile murder case that has gripped the nation since the rapper’s death in February 2023.

Lynn Forbes, AKA’s mother, took to Instagram to share her emotions as the suspects landed in the country.

Her post, which included a throwback photo of her and her son, carried a heartbreaking message about the pain of loss.

“If you were the one coming home today, that would be justice for me. Everything else is just process. This South African air is suffocating today. I cannot breathe.”

Her post struck a chord with many South Africans, who flooded her comments with sympathy and support as she continues to mourn her son. Lynn has often reflected on AKA’s memory through emotional tributes and pictures of their time together, keeping his legacy alive.

Meanwhile, AKA’s father, Tony Forbes, shared a different kind of reaction, one filled with cautious optimism.

Speaking to eNCA shortly after the brothers’ arrival, Tony expressed relief that the long-awaited extradition had finally taken place and that all seven accused in the case would stand trial.

“I’m very excited is probably not the right word, but I’m pleased that we’ve arrived at this day,” he said. “It’s been a long time coming, but I feel satisfied now that when the trial starts, all seven will be on trial, in particular the brother that pulled the trigger.”

Tony also commended the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) for their consistent communication throughout the investigation.

“The investigating team, along with the NPA, has kept me abreast over the last two and a half years,” he explained.

“They managed my expectations when the arrests happened in Eswatini, warning that it would take time. So, I’m very pleased that it’s finally happening.”

Social media users have since shared mixed reactions, with many expressing hope that the Ndimande brothers will finally reveal who ordered the hit on the beloved musician.
