Eastern Cape cop has been apprehended with four other suspects for kidnapping and murdering ex-wife in Mthatha.
The incident took place while the woman and her son were travelling to Qumbu from Tina Falls when some men forced her to stop along the side of the road.
After demanding money from the victim, one of the suspects fired a shot towards the woman and dragged her to the car. The woman was kidnapped on 11th of June and her lifeless body found several days later.
However, the son managed escaping the scene after being assaulted by the suspects.
“Five suspects were apprehended during the week, the arrested suspects include two women who are sisters they are aged between 30 and 40. Three other men, including a Mthatha police officer who was the woman’s ex-husband”, police spokeperson Kinana said.
The suspects are to appear in court today 29th June, 2020.
