A police has been arrested by the police watch dog.
The suspected police officer was allegedly involved in the murder of three people at Phuphuma in the KwaZulu-Natal midlands.
The Independent Police Investigative Directorate (Ipid) in a statement said that they were investigating the deaths, which occurred on Saturday morning.
The Ipid immediately arrested him after they received reports that he was allegedly involved in the murder.
However, circumstances surrounding the cause of the murder is not clear yet.
According to Ipid’s spokesperson, Ndileka Cola, the police investigation into the death prompted the arrest of the suspect.
“Ipid received a report alleging that the police officer was involved in this incident.”
“The Ipid investigators responded swiftly to the crime scene to conduct an investigation,” Cola said.
“The South African Police Service (SAPS) arrested the police officer who is alleged to have caused the deaths of the three deceased persons.”
“Ipid is gathering more valuable information relating to this incident through its investigation process.”
