Clicks group on Tuesday evening confirmed in a statement that one of its non-executive director, Nonkululeko Gobodo has resigned.
Nonkululeko Gobodo resignation was effective from Monday.
She stated that her resignation was as a result of personal reasons.
Her resignation comes after she told the media that she had warned Clicks of the kind of message they send to their black customers amidst the racist ad saga.
“My daughter had educated me on brands not understanding their black customers, so with this knowledge I was asking the executives, ‘how do you talk to your black customers?'” Gobodo said as at then.
The group thanked Gobodo for her valuable insight to the board and the audit and risk committee.
“We would like to thank Nonku for her valuable insights and contribution to the board and to the audit and risk committee over the past three years, and wish her every success in her present and future undertakings,” said chairperson David Nurek.
The senior executive responsible for the controversial ad also resigned last week.
