Joburg mayoral committee member, Loyiso Masuku, has finally resumed to work.
Her resumption came in after she was cleared off the PPE scandal.
She was placed on extended leave in July by Mayor Geoff Makhubo following Gauteng African National Congress (ANC)’s request.
This was because the party was internally investigating claims that linked the MMC, her husband, former Health MEC Dr Bandile Masuku and presidential spokesperson, Khusela Diko to corruption claims in the awarding of personal protective equipment tender.
Masuku returned to work after ANC’s own processes cleared her name off.
Meanwhile, her husband, Bandile Masuku lodged court processes against the SIU over a report that led to him being dismissed.
Loyiso Masuku said she was not worried about the ANC’s processes.
“If I had for whatever reason refused to cooperate and not allowed the process, perhaps it would have been perceived differently, so I was comfortable to allow the process to take its natural course for as long as it needed to be done.”
