Amazon’s new vice president: First Black woman to fill position

Alicia Boler Davis made history when she took the position of senior vice-president at Amazon. She became the very first Black woman to occupy this position

Alicia Boler Davis, who is a high-achieving Black lady, got elected into a high-rank position in Amazon.


The fact is, no Black woman in the world has ever occupied in the company’s 26-year history.

According to a report developed by Blackbusiness.com, it is pin-pointed that Alicia becomes Amazon’s Senior Vice President of Global Customer Fulfillment.

Her appointment was based on merit, which was in line with her outstanding efforts for more inclusivity in the world-renowned company.

Before she was appointed the massive role, Alicia actually served as the head of global manufacturing at General Motors Company before she joined Amazon in 2019.

Her new role as the vice president will see her lead the worldwide network of over 175 Amazon fulfillment centres across 16 countries.

Also, she will lead the following:

  • Worldwide network of Customers Service operations and technology,
  • Sustainability,
  • Product Safety
  • Security. and
  • Product Compliance.

With that in mind, let’s take a moment to congratulate Alicia Boler Davis on her new role and also being the first African American and fourth female to join Amazon’s prestigious S-team.

She will now be among the group of executives that give advice to its CEO – Jeff Bezos. This group had previously been majorly consisted of white males.
