City of Tshwane announced that its bus drivers have resumed operations on Monday afternoon.
This announcement comes after its bus services were disrupted early on Monday morning.
So many commuters were left stranded on due to the disruptions.
According to the city’s spokesperson Selby Bokaba, some drivers downed their tools.
“The City of Tshwane is pleased to inform Tshwane bus commuters of the resumption of bus operations this afternoon after the morning shift was interrupted by some of the drivers affiliated to labour union Samwu, who unexpectedly decided to down tools over the bus shift system,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bokaba disclosed that a meeting was held.
It was agreed upon that a task team has been established to deal with the grievances.
However, the city apologised to all commuters for the inconvenience caused by the disruption.
