Why tomato ketchup is dangerous?

According to experts, store-bought tomato ketchup is laced with several chemicals and preservatives, which are harmful in various ways. They are only used for enhancing the taste of ketchup. It contains high quantities of sugar, salt, fructose, preservatives and corn syrup. All of these ingredients when combined together have an adverse effect on the body.

It’s a known fact that tomatoes are rich in citric and malic acid. When you consume too much of it, it can cause heartburn or acid reflux. These acids when go into the stomach add up to gastric acid used by the body to break down the food that you eat. Thus, it is advised for those who have gastric problems to not consume tomato ketchup or tomatoes.

2. Obesity

Tomato ketchup contains too much of sugar and preservatives, which can increase body fat that in turn increases obesity. You will be surprised to know that consuming too much of tomato ketchup can also reduce the insulin in the body.

3. Allergies

If you regularly consume tomato ketchup, it can cause several allergies in the body as it contains histamine. It can also cause vomiting and diarrhoea in a person depending on consumption.
