Rap icon AKA has told his fans not to waste their money on voting for him at the upcoming South African Music Awards. The rapper used his Twitter page to explain the reason he is saving his fans money.
While AKA admitted to not having issues with the award organizers, he said he simply believes he already won the award before SAMA came around. Check out his tweets below
Hi guys. Please don't waste any of your money voting for me with ANY of my recent SAMA nominations. We'll concentrate our efforts on the awards next year maybe.

This is not coming from a place of arrogance or thinking I'm better. Your airtime and money and data or whatever might be precious to you, and I don't want you to waste it on someone who would rather you use it for something or someone else.

While I appreciate and thank the SAMAs for the nominations, right now I'm just not focused on campaigning for votes to win awards.

For the record I don't have any issues with the SAMAs, in fact I don't have any issues with anyone right now ???? … I would just like myself and the Megacy to focus on the next few months as they pertain to music/ music videos/ product/ deals etc ????????

As much as I appreciate the acknowledgement … "The World is Yours" has been nominated for instance … I think I have already won the award for making that timeless record. It will live in your hearts forever, until you die. That's enough for me ????????

I really really do appreciate the nominations and acknowledgement … i don't take it for granted ???????? … I just feel like I've already been rewarded and awarded for my work.

Look, it doesn't mean I wouldn't want to attend or perform at the SAMAs … maybe I should debut my new shit there. That would be sick.

Next year we'll go hard for the awards since it's the last one. Then we can all be happy and ride off into the sunset.
