A Western Cape policeman who allegedly raped his brother’s girlfriend was arrested in Delft on Monday.
He was arrested by the Independent Police Investigative Directorate (IPID) after the incident was reported at the Delft police station.
The sexual assault which occurred over the weekend pushed the victim to report the matter to the police.
The victim narrated that she was in a party at her boyfriend’s house over the weekend.
After she had alcohol, she decided to go and sleep in her boyfriend’s bedroom.
She explained that she woke up only to realize that the police officer, who is her boyfriend’s brother was raping her.
When she tried pushing him away in order to reach her phone, another man allegedly grabbed her and sexually assaulted her.
The woman claimed that the second man is her boyfriend’s friend.
Her report led to the arrest of the policeman.
Investigation is still ongoing.
